Seasonal Bridge Decorations
Submitted by Julia Taylor, Photos from Brandy Watson
Fenelon Falls is looking mighty festive these days! Don’t miss checking out the seasonal hanging baskets around town and the updated planters along the bridge. A huge thank you to Brandy and The Barn and Bunkie crew with Robert Young Carpentry Ltd. and G. Hart & Sons Well Drilling Ltd for the winter bridge planters, Brian Saxon and Ann Lean for the greenery delivery, and to Carol Milroy, Judy Seymour, and the Fenelon Falls Horticultural Society for the winter hanging baskets, as well as the City of Kawartha Lakes for the wreaths. Keeping Fenelon Falls beautiful is a team effort, and this winter town is looking great because of your hard work - thank you!
What Shopping Local Means to Me
Now more than ever, the adage “Shop Local” is important to practice in order to maintain the vibrant community of Fenelon Falls. We asked some of Fenelon’s local businesses to tell us what “Shop Local” means to them as we head into the season of holiday shopping and gift-giving; read on to see what they have to say.
Volunteer Effort Brightens up the Fenelon Bridge
Many spots in town - including the bridge over the falls - got a little brighter this past week after a huge collective effort from local volunteers worked to install and plant beautiful flower boxes and baskets around town. Spearheaded by Julia Taylor and Marylee Boston on behalf of the Fenelon Falls and District Chamber of Commerce, the mission to beautify our community spaces relies on the volunteer efforts of a huge group of people. Julia and Marylee would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who pitched in to make this project come together this summer.
Country Cupboard Introduces Door Service
Submitted by Julia Taylor
Customers can now place orders online or over the phone for pick up and delivery to Fenelon Falls, Coboconk, and the Bobcaygeon areas. We have introduced this free service to give access to our products to those who have limitations with mobility, transportation, and time. We know it can be hard to make an extra stop with our busy lives or get into Fenelon when you don’t have transportation, or just to get out of the house if you have mobility issues, but we also know that people want to reduce waste, cost, and time, and we can do all of those things for you with this new service at Country Cupboard.
