What Shopping Local Means to Me
Now more than ever, the adage “Shop Local” is important to practice in order to maintain the vibrant community of Fenelon Falls. We asked some of Fenelon’s local businesses to tell us what “Shop Local” means to them as we head into the season of holiday shopping and gift-giving; read on to see what they have to say.

Keeping It Local
Submitted by Cheri Davidson on behalf of City of Kawartha Lakes
There’s no doubt about the impact that COVID-19 is having on our community. Small business owners have been hit hard by the restrictions, cost of safety protocols and the ongoing uncertainty of the pandemic. Consumer confidence is an issue, as virtually everyone from students to seniors are feeling the impacts. In response, the municipality, with the support of all four Chambers of Commerce (Fenelon Falls, Coboconk, Norland and Area, Bobcaygeon, Lindsay and District) and the Lindsay Downtown Business Improvement Area (BIA), is leading a multi-faceted campaign to encourage awareness and action for shopping local.
Congratulations to Our Shop Local Winners
On behalf of the Fenelon Falls & District Chamber of Commerce, we are excited to announce the winners of our recent Shop Local weekend. Winners were randomly selected via random draw and two of the three draws included previous entrants from the cancelled Kawartha Lakes Country Living Show giveaway. Congratulations to Jen McKinlay, Emily Patterson, and Sharon Myles. We hope you enjoy your gift baskets. A huge thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the Shop Local weekend a huge success.
