As the winter season approaches, bringing with it shorter days and longer nights, it's crucial to discuss an often-neglected aspect of health: mental well-being. The change in seasons can profoundly impact our mood and energy levels, with many experiencing a decrease in both during these colder, darker months. However, one of the most effective, yet underutilized, tools for combating these seasonal challenges is physical activity, a fact supported by extensive research and recognized by global health authorities like the World Health Organization (WHO).
Santa Day - An Invitation to a Traditional Christmas.
At St. James we will be telling the story of the traditional St. Nicholas (the original Santa Claus. In keeping with that tradition we will be giving out (chocolate) gold coins. Also at St. James, in the church itself, is featured a large Nativity Scene, that measures 36 square feet.

This year the most needed items for the FFSS personal care pantry are deodorant, pregnancy tests, condoms, and nut-free snacks.

Passport to Christmas
The promotion begins Friday, November 17th and runs to Sunday, December 17th, 2023. Take advantage of the double stamp weekends on Dec. 1st to 3rd and Dec. 15th to 17th. The process is simple; make a purchase of any amount at a participating business and receive a stamp on your passport. When you have 5 stamps, complete the entry portion at the bottom of your passport and drop it in an entry box located at a participating store or restaurant. Whether you’re getting your Christmas shopping done, buying a little something for yourself or enjoying a meal with family and friends, there’s so many ways to fill your passport and spread some local love this holiday season. (Note: More than one purchase/stamp from the same business is acceptable.)
Pick up a passport at a participating location to get started on your stamp collecting and fill up as many passports as you can. All eligible entries will be entered to win one of the grand prize baskets. The prize baskets will have extra goodies thanks to the support of the partner businesses; Bill’s Quality Pest Control, Cable Cable, Fenelon Station Gallery, Haus Simply, Journey of Life Celebrations, and Pro-Wildlife Services Ltd. Draws will be made at the end of December.
