WATER STREET CLOTHESLINE CLOSING APRIL 3RD, 2021
Everything for a Season, a reason for every Season, so while Seasons change it’s time for a change for Pam Vaters owner of Water Street Clothesline. Pam loved working at Water Street Clothesline AKA “The Hoodie Store” and met amazing locals & cottagers over the last 3 years. However, with the family custom screen printing & embroidery plant in Bobcaygeon so busy and hiring because of C-19 an issue, she is needed to oversee its operations.

Fenelon Falls Featured
How lucky are we all to get to be a part of such an amazing community! Fenelon Falls is a true gem in the Kawarthas and that has not gone unnoticed. In the last week, our incredible village was featured in two articles by the Toronto Star! Looks like we are making it to the big leagues.

Be A Dandelion
If you were told to “Be a Dandelion” most people would not consider that encouraging or uplifting but this week that’s exactly what happened. Downtown businesses found a handmade bouquet of dandelions, a painted rock and a beautiful card on their doorstep.

Everyday is International Women's Day in Fenelon Falls
International Women’s Day is taking place on Monday, March 8th. The theme this year is #Choosetochallenge. Choose to challenge the world, and with that comes change. International Women’s Day was first honoured in 1911 by Austria, Denmark, Switzerland, and Germany. Men and Women attended rallies that campaigned for Women’s rights to work, vote, and end discrimination. On the eve of WWI, Russian Women campaigned for peace and observed their first International Women’s Day. In 1975, International Women’s Day was celebrated for the first time by the United Nations. Fast forward to 2021, the world has witnessed a significant change in society’s view on Women’s emancipation and equality. We have Female astronauts, Prime Ministers, and beyond that, Women have rights!
In our village, we have a web of Female owned businesses, a majority of Women sitting on boards, Volunteering, and a plethora of opportunities for young girls to pursue their dreams with strong Female role models as guides. It is incredible to see the shift in the world's perspective on Women, and how far Women have come since 1911. I believe the biggest change starts at home, and what is truly inspiring is the number of Women who have grown our village and strengthened our community in outstanding ways. This article is to highlight some of the amazing Women in Fenelon Falls who have all contributed to the advancements Women have made in society over the years. Our Women thrive each and every day. This progress will continue if we “think globally, act locally, and make everyday International Women’s Day”!

St. James Church in the Times of COVID-19
Submitted by Beverly Jeeves. Can you believe it has been over a year since the first cases of Covid-19 appeared in Canada? It has been a year since restrictions, lockdowns, wearing masks, and staying six feet apart becoming the “new normal.” Did anyone think that we would still be in the midst of this pandemic one-year later.

A Shoutout to the Santa Day Committee
While Santa Day did not go on this year as we are all used to, the Santa Day Committee spared no creativity while lighting up our village and continuing the spirit of Christmas despite the circumstances as a result of COVID-19. A HUGE shout out to the Santa Day Committee is much deserved, for working so hard to create an opportunity for everyone to feel a little bit brighter, and a little bit more jolly. Whether you were walking or driving, you could not miss the beautiful displays. Our village truly resembled the inside of a snow globe, or better yet, an original Hallmark Christmas movie set up. Big thanks to the Santa Day Committee.
