Fire Chief Terry Jones is calling on all residents of Kawartha Lakes to test their smoke alarms on September 28 as part of Test Your Smoke Alarm Day. Be prepared to be Saved by the Beep with a working smoke alarm – it is your best chance to keep you and your family safe in the event of a fire.
Breast in Show Exhibition
Brenda Benedet became an artist when her life was rudely interrupted in 2018 with a breast cancer diagnosis. She volunteers as a Peer Support for patients with breast cancer as they take the journey that 1 in 8 women will also find themselves on. Come view her paintings and join us for an evening of art and advocacy. Opening reception Wednesday, October 4th from 5-7pm at the Colborne Art Gallery.

After dinner, Dave Mowat (former Chief of Alderville First Nation) will lead his band in some amazing toe-tapping blues music for our enjoyment.
Once in a Blue Moon
Once in a Blue Moon will be an evening of fun, feasting, music, and silent auction to support the Mishkodeh Centre for Indigenous Knowledge. The Centre’s dream is to make connections between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people, outside, on the land. Our fundraising initiatives will help us be able to create educational events and purchase land.
Get Yourself to Million Dollar Quartet at the Grove!
From one of the most provocative eras of music comes a completely evocative show. Million Dollar Quartet takes place in 1956 at Sun Records, where Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley all got their start. On this one particular day the stars aligned and all four musicians found themselves in the same place at the same time. Sun Records producer, Sam Phillips, hit record and a legendary jam session was captured that day.

Green was the color of the day as 27 girls from Langton Public School gathered at Garnet Graham Park in Fenelon Falls to set off for a 5k run along the trail and back.

Curbside textile recycling will return for Kawartha Lakes residents in June. The purpose of curbside textile recycling is to help divert clothing, footwear and linens from ending up in our landfills.
