Colborne Street Reconstruction Update
The construction in Downtown Fenelon Falls is well underway, and we know, it isn't the prettiest or most convenient scenario at the moment. With that said, the end results are going to be beautiful and functional, giving the downtown a well deserved facelift.
Development and Cottage Country – Opportunities for Lake Health Improvement Project
Local residents that might have otherwise worked or vacationed elsewhere are hunkered down. Remote working or va(stay)cationing is not unusual anymore - it has been the norm. I’ve never seen so many people as I have this past winter out enjoying the frozen lake conditions. Who knew snowboarding behind a snowmobile was a thing?!
Versatile Potatoes by TheDevineKitchen
We all know how to bake a potato topped with butter or sour cream, chives and salt—delicious. But here’s a fun recipe with a personality to elevate that experience 10-fold. Serve them as 2-bite appetizers, or in part for a casual dinner.

Versatile Lentils by TheDevineKitchen
What we need on a regular basis are healthy recipes for cooking simple but rich food. French lentils are a high-fiber and high-protein addition to many meals. They’re tastier than brown or red lentils and their firm texture makes them an excellent choice for salads, for lentil soup, and as a side with fish, pork or poultry. Here’s a flavor enhancing method for cooking them. French lentils are available at Joanne’s Place here in the Kawarthas.
NEWS RELEASE from Eastern Ontario Regional Network
After years of preparation, March 19 marked one of the most exciting days in the history of EORN, certainly in my time on the board. The Cell Gap Project contract is now formally signed and we are looking forward to improving the quality of life for people across eastern Ontario through an extensive network of new and updated telecommunications infrastructure deployed by our partner Rogers Communications. As with any larger infrastructure project, solving gaps in cell connectivity will take a few years.

Earth Week + Free Frozen Yogurt at The Country Cupboard
Earth week begins this year on Sunday April 18 and continues to Earth Day on April 22nd. Let’s work on saving the Earth every day with these simple steps below. Now more than ever we should be working to reduce our carbon footprint and maintain a healthy earth for generations to come. For the entire Month, the Country Cupboard is offering FREE frozen yogurt to anyone who does a little litter clean up. All you have to do is take a photo of the clean up and bring it into the store. Saving the earth and eating frozen yogurt while at it, not a bad deal.

“We created the Sunrise Challenge because it’s time. Time to invest in mental health like we do physical health. Time to end the silence, stigma, and shame that still surround mental illness today. Time to rise together and stop mental illness from destroying lives.”

Skip Amazon, Shop Prime in Fenelon Falls!
Here we go again … April 2021 is looking a lot like April 2020. After a full year of COVID, our downtown small businesses have the virtual and contact-free shopping experience down to a science. Thankfully Marylee and I were able to get out in the sun and shop the village one last time before the stay at home order commences.
Roasted Sweet Potatoes by TheDevineKitchen
No need to wrap whole sweet potatoes in aluminum foil. The thin skin gets slightly crisp when roasted in olive oil and salt, making a nice contrast to the creamy, sweet flesh. Drizzling them in warmed honey and herbs makes them irresistible.
Media Release - Stay Vigilant + Follow Public Health Measures
Until everyone has been vaccinated, the local Medical Officer of Health is urging people to remain vigilant and continue to follow public health recommendations to help stop the increased spread of the COVID-19 virus in the area.

From your Fenelon Falls Horticultural Society!
We want to remind you that it is still too soon to be cleaning up your gardens!
The pollinators overwintering in the stems and debris of last fall’s greenery are not ready to emerge yet - - it is not warm enough for them to survive. It is frustrating to see your gardens needing care and not getting the work done during this nice weather, but until the days and nights are over 10C it is too early. It won’t be long now. Stay patient!
