Fenelon Falls Tennis Club Championships
Saturday September 17th was a spectacular day at the Fenelon Falls Tennis Club (FFTC) as members and tennis fans turned out to watch the final round of this year's Club Championships. The day showcased the Mixed Doubles, Men's Doubles and Women’s Doubles final matches followed by a BBQ and social. For the many spectators and players in attendance, it was the culminating event to another great season of tennis.
Tell Me Something Good: Sharing Stories of Resilience & Hope
The Resiliency Collective, an umbrella group of local service providers that includes the Therapeutic Family Care Program and Five Counties Children’s Centre, wants to better define and share stories of ‘resiliency’ in the community. The Collective is organizing a free virtual event on October 19 that is open to everyone and meant to inspire participants and local service providers with unique, uplifting stories of hope.
The Kawartha Lakes-Haliburton Housing Corporation seeks new members for their Board of Directors
The Kawartha Lakes-Haliburton (KLH) Housing Corporation is seeking three to four individuals to serve as directors on the corporation’s Board of Directors. One new director will be a KLH Housing Corporation tenant.

Our next meeting of the Fenelon Falls Horticultural Society, at the Senior Citizens Club at 58 Murray Street in Fenelon Falls, is coming up on September 26th and there is “Homework” associated with it. Robert Bowles, our September speaker, will be talking about “The Hidden World Beneath Our Feet” and would like anyone attending to please bring mushrooms to the meeting and he will identify them for you.

Public Interview of the Candidates for the next Mayor of Kawartha Lakes
On Monday, September 19 from 7 PM to 9 PM, The Woodville Freedom Group (WFG) will host an event featuring all candidates for the next Mayor of Kawartha Lakes. Billed as “a public interview by citizens for citizens”, it will be presented in the format of a job interview.

Kawartha Lakes heads to the polls this October and with the Mayor and Ward 3 seats open it’s an important election for our community. The Fenelon Falls & District Chamber of Commerce and Kawartha Works Community Co-op are hosting a Mayoral + Ward 3 candidates meeting on Tuesday, September 13th.

Ottawa-based alternative-folk musician Rory Taillon is bringing his unique style and dynamic voice to the beautiful Grove Theatre stage on Saturday, September 10th. Taillon spent most of his time pre-pandemic touring across Canada performing his music to captive audiences and he is excited to be back performing live again. Rory’s latest album, “Drifting” dives deep into themes of loss, remorse, death, and dealing with mental illness. The subject matter of Rory’s songs exemplify a curiosity and a wisdom of difficult ideas that is beyond his years.
