Community Care Hosting Volunteer Fairs
Community Care will be hosting two Volunteer Fairs in January and February, and all are welcome to attend. We currently have an urgent need for volunteers to help with packing and delivering boxes for our Good Food Box program. Come learn about some of the many volunteer positions we have and how to get involved!
Kawartha Field Naturalists Present a Talk on Invasive Species
We invite you to our first meeting of 2023 - Trent University MSc Candidate Nick Weissflog will be introducing us to a new way of thinking about invasive species! This meeting will be held on Monday January 9th at 7pm at 89 Colborne Street (in the basement of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church) in Fenelon Falls, and is open and free to all interested in attending. The talks will also be paired with coffee/tea and holiday treats!
New Electronic Billing Service Option for Property Tax and Utility Bills
Kawartha Lakes residents now have the choice to opt in to a new service called Payreq to electronically receive property tax and utility bills. Payreq provides a personal and secure digital mailbox to easily receive and store bills.

An Invitation to a Traditional Christmas
In St. James Church is featured a large Nativity Scene, that measures 36 square feet. The diorama is set up in a horseshoe shape to symbolize the welcoming, all inclusive arms of Christ. You are welcome to come. The diorama itself contains 80 pieces and has been set up each Christmas for the last five years by parishioner Peter Mancini.

You No Longer Need To Get Called Down To The Principal’s Office To See Some Exceptional Canadian Art
In 2020, Mark Cossarin the Principal of Lindsay Collegiate and Vocational Institute (LCVI), a secondary school in Lindsay, Ontario, knew that the school had some significant pieces of Canadian artwork on the walls of the school, and contacted Kawartha Art Gallery in Lindsay, Ontario, to discuss the possibility of a long-term loan of the artwork to the Gallery.

Sunday December 4 was a special day for St. James Anglican Church, 7 Bond St. E. Fenelon Falls. Father Alvardo Adderley, the wardens and congregation were celebrating the completion of a project developed with the support of Digital Museums of Canada; "Anne Langton, An Anglican Church Woman in Fenelon Falls."

Scottish Curlers To Play at the Fenelon Falls Curling Club During 2023 Strathcona Cup
Once every 10 years, Canada plays host to the world’s oldest international men’s curling bonspiel, the “Strathcona Cup”. This month-long curling bonspiel brings together 60 male curlers from Scotland to play against Canadians in curling centres across Canada.

Over the years the Chamber of Commerce Tourism Office has been home to a number of fantastic summer students. The role of the summer students is so important we created the Tourism Ambassador program to make the most of their talents as they showcase our community.
