Aren't these beautiful? Look at those vivid colours! They are "wet felted" flower brooches. Very popular now. People wear them on their hats or scarves. Marg Chalmers, a local resident, a Granny and a talented textile artist will be offering a workshop this Saturday Sept 18.

Mass Immunization Clinic at Fenelon Falls has Finished
5 months ago we began a journey of community engagement with great success. The Lions Club of Fenelon Falls, Lions Club of Coboconk, The Seniors Club, The Curling Club, Kawartha Soroptimist, Bobcaygeon Kinettes, the Rotary Club of Fenelon Falls as well as individual community members who all wanted to contribute to the greater good of their community.
Kawartha Lakes launches #EyeSpyKL Cultural Scavenger Hunt
With the changing colours and cooler temperatures, now is the perfect time for a drive and game of Eye Spy. From September 4 to October 31, spot the icon posted at one of 18 cultural locations across Kawartha Lakes and learn new details about some of our oldest artefacts. The Arts & Heritage Trail is hosting a Cultural Scavenger Hunt designed to allow safe tourism throughout Kawartha Lakes.

Nine Farms Participating in Annual Kawartha Farmfest
Kawartha Farmfest is returning for the nineteenth year on Saturday October 2, 2021. The self-driving tour features 14 stops, including nine operational farms, local farmers’ markets and Kawartha Dairy. Health and safety protocols will be in place to ensure the safety of participants.

The Kawartha Lakes Arts Festival’s First Online Auction!
The Kawartha Arts Festival is thrilled to have launched our first Online Art Auction, in support of our artists who are missing the Festival for the second year in a row.
The auction features 37 pieces of art from 11 artists, including a Young At Art participant, and runs until 4:00 PM on Sunday, September 5 - which would have marked the closing of the 2021 Festival.

Since the start of the pandemic, A Place Called Home has seen a substantial increase in the numbers of people needing assistance both in the City of Kawartha Lakes and the County of Haliburton. The pandemic created fear and uncertainty resulting in more people living in precarious situations, while also impacted by the local housing market and the lack of availability of rooms and apartments.
