Missing Children Society of Canada Introduces Council to the Child Search Network & MCSC Rescu App

In the Committee of the Whole meeting on January 10, 2023, Council received a presentation by Kawartha Lakes Police Services (KLPS) Chief Mark Mitchell, Detachment Commander for the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP Tim Tatchell, and Missing Children's Society of Canada’s (MCSC) CEO Amanda Pick. Following the tragic drowning of Draven Graham in June 2022, Kawartha Lakes OPP and KLPS have worked closely with stakeholders to adopt a new way to help find missing children faster.

We invite you to our first meeting of 2023 - Trent University MSc Candidate Nick Weissflog will be introducing us to a new way of thinking about invasive species! This meeting will be held on Monday January 9th at 7pm at 89 Colborne Street (in the basement of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church) in Fenelon Falls, and is open and free to all interested in attending. In St. James Church is featured a large Nativity Scene, that measures 36 square feet. The diorama is set up in a horseshoe shape to symbolize the welcoming, all inclusive arms of Christ. You are welcome to come.  The diorama itself contains 80 pieces and has been set up each Christmas for the last five years by parishioner Peter Mancini.

In 2020, Mark Cossarin the Principal of Lindsay Collegiate and Vocational Institute (LCVI), a secondary school in Lindsay, Ontario, knew that the school had some significant pieces of Canadian artwork on the walls of the school, and contacted Kawartha Art Gallery in Lindsay, Ontario, to discuss the possibility of a long-term loan of the artwork to the Gallery.

Father Alvardo Adderley, the wardens and congregation were celebrating the completion of a project developed with the support of Digital Museums of Canada; "Anne Langton, An Anglican Church Woman in Fenelon Falls."
